If you haven’t visited The Lingerie Addict to read our collaborative post about the Celestial Goddesses shoot, what are you waiting for?
Inspired by goddesses, heavenly bodies, and vengeance, we planned a shoot featuring some of our favorite lingerie sets we both own: the stunning limited edition Viola Gold collection from luxury full-bust specialist Harlow & Fox, and the decadent Kaylin Kaftan from burlesque queen Catherine D’Lish. You can see all of Sylvie Rosokoff’s incredible photos, and read more about what this series meant to us, today at The Lingerie Addict.
Here at Sweet Nothings, we wanted to share a little bit more about how we styled our goddesses, as well as sharing even more lingerie and loungewear pieces to help you channel your inner goddess!
NYX AND SELENE
For Selene and Nyx, we designed our looks around the sumptuous, over-the-top volume and rich deep blue of the Catherine D’Lish Kaylin Kaftans. The sweeping folds reminded me of Aubrey Beardsley engravings, and that led me, in a roundabout way, to Art Deco and pre-Code Hollywood and silent films. We were inspired by the glamour of these early films, and we knew we wanted dramatic makeup and sumptuous jewels, glittering stars for Nyx and gleaming pearls for Selene. We also knew our location had a stunning astrological map in one of the rooms, and so we could nod to the frequent use of crescent moon imagery that was popular in early film and photography.
Looking to create your own goddess of the night ensemble? We’ve rounded up sumptuous inky hues, gleaming silk, and sparkling embroidery and embellishments to adorn your lingerie wardrobe.

ARTEMIS AND HESTIA

Judith Slaying Holofernes by Artemisia Gentileschi
For our goddesses who shine at sunset, the styling was all about warmth, heat, and radiance: gold silk, gleaming skin, shining blood in candlelight. We wanted to echo the colors of Gentileschi’s painting, so we chose a black room, to allow the gold lingerie, red blood and fruits, and luminous surfaces to shine in the light. The warmth of gold silk begs for drama: high contrast, sensual textures, and bold shapes and silhouettes.
To get the look, we were all about gold: you’ll find amber, bronze, tobacco, and even bright sunny hues, in glittering lurex, shining silk, and sumptuous velvet. We’ve also chosen a few pieces that nod to Artemis’ leafy crown or Hestia’s billowing veil.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our collaboration!
