As I’ve mentioned a few times previously, now that I’m in my 30s I’ve noticed a definite shift in my lingerie preferences and buying habits. While I’ll always enjoy bold colors, trend-driven details like leatherette finish, longline bands, or strapping, and the occasional whimsical print, I find that I’m increasingly drawn to lingerie that feels elegant and timeless.

Chamade
I feel less pressured than I used to to try every bra under the sun. Now that I know what shapes and sizes work for me, I want to invest in fewer, higher-quality pieces that fit well, make me feel beautiful, and feature exquisite craftsmanship, from fabrics and trims to construction and fit. As fun as grand boudoir statement pieces can be, lingerie that feels both wearable and beautiful is lingerie that I want to wear again and again.

Calypso
I’ve admired Avocado Lingerie from afar for a few years now. For a long time I was sized out of the brand, and in a happy coincidence, now that I have the opportunity to wear Avocado lingerie myself, they’ve launched a brand-new website to celebrate their 15th anniversary, complete with stunning new collections and photography that perfectly captures that spirit of timeless elegance.

Avocado uses European bra sizing and offers collections in sizes from 60-95 (roughly 28-42 in UK sizes) and cup sizes from C-L, depending on band size (which works out to around C-HH in UK cup sizes). Briefs, boyshorts, and high-waist knickers are available in sizes from XS-XXL. Several classic looks from the Avocado archives return to the new site, like sweet Caprice in a whisper of sheer ivory mesh, delicate Calypso in a dreamy mermaid green, and lavishly embroidered Jewel in a bold red.

Jewel
Avocado offers two ranges: a continuity collection of classic styles like Portofino, Mirabelle, and Isadora, as well as a couture collection of dramatic pieces that elevate Avocado’s customary craftsmanship with luxurious details like pure silk, exquisite lace, and embroidered tulle. Some of my favorites from the couture collection are the sultry lace and tulle Valentina, the shimmering ombre embroidery of Orlando (that is some Daenerys Targaryen lingerie right there), and the strappy silk showstopper Adele.

Avocado bras are available in four different shapes to accommodate different body types (classified as HC/HCT, a half-cup shape with a vertical seam, RV, a universal style designed to work well for many different bodies and breast shapes, NF, intended to work well for wider-set breasts and broader bodies, and A, designed for designed for narrow bodies or breasts with narrow roots). Many bras are available in more than one shape, so if you find a style you love, you’ll be able to choose the bra shape that fits you best.

Isadora
Avocado Lingerie was kind enough to send me the new images from their website, as well as some lovely behind-the-scenes snaps of the creation of the new lookbook. I’m thrilled the share them with you here. I’ll also have the opportunity later this year to review a set of Avocado lingerie so I can share my first-hand experience with this new-to-me brand. I hope you enjoy the images below– which collection strikes your fancy?

August 16, 2016 at 1:05 pm (7 years ago)First, a fellow retailer shared this lookbook with me, and I was instantly in love with how understylized it is. Sometimes I feel like manufacturers go crazy with backdrops and accessories (*cough* Freya *cough*) and forget to just showcase the lingerie. There’s something very fresh about this. second, I have been eyeing Avocado for the shop. There’s a lot of great lingerie companies in Poland but also in Eastern Europe in general who are creating interesting piece in a range of sizes with excellent fits. I’m glad to see you spotlighted one here!

August 16, 2016 at 8:16 pm (7 years ago)Is there a good way to contact them in English? I keep trying to use the discount for two bras (valued at 175 Euros) and it’s telling me I haven’t met the minimum amount to use the discount. I shouldn’t have any problems since the minimum is 60 Euros and I am trying to spend more than that. Thanks in advance 🙂

August 17, 2016 at 7:14 am (7 years ago)Okay! Unfortunately they’re not sure why the code is working for some orders and not others, but there are two ways you can place your order:
– either make an order and pay the whole amount via Paypal and Avocado will refund the discount and shipping costs immediately (12 hours max) directly to your Paypal;
– or send them an order via e-mail to info@avocado.com.pl (English is fine!) and they will send the money request with the discount and free shipping from Paypal manually.
I hope this helps!

August 19, 2016 at 6:47 pm (7 years ago)I’ve scrolled up and down this post again and just…wow. I love how it looks like they’ve put just as much thought into a stunning matching panty as they did the bra.

August 30, 2016 at 12:44 pm (7 years ago)Beautiful post. I love to see photos of lingerie as well as love to read the article. Such a great collection from Avocado. The lace work adds an extra touch of sexiness. Designed very carefully. Also, variety of colors increase the beauty of set. Nice one!

October 31, 2016 at 5:47 pm (6 years ago)I think it is quite interesting and laudable that more and more lingerie pieces are coming from Eastern Europe. Whilst Italy and Paris are at the forefront of the lingerie market, I think that the variety presented by the Eastern European lingerie designers is definitely a breath of fresh air.
