LaLilouche is one of my favorite independent and luxury lingerie brands. Designer Liya plays so beautifully with form and embellishment to create elegant pieces that combine traditional lingerie forms, like sheer tulle bralettes and silk suspender knickers, with more relaxed, casual loungewear elements like hoodies and boxers. Best of all, since most pieces are made to order, she can customize her garments to suit your measurements. I was browsing some of my favorite sites this weekend and noticed that three lovely new collections have popped up in her Etsy store– Bridget, Alexina, and Fiona.
There are signature LaLilouche elements in each collection: sparkling embellishments, gleaming silks, juxtapositions of transparency and opacity, and a dash of casual loungewear pieces like tanks and crop tops that add a sense of playfulness to the otherwise unabashed luxury. Bridget offers a deeply sultry mix of sheer gold tulle and opaque black silk , Fiona mixes sweet pink dots with flirty, twirling tassels, and Alexina introduces strapping and other aggressive elements into an otherwise delicate bridal collection. I particularly love the new twist on LaLilouche’s signature heart-backed kimono (a favorite piece of mine) in Alexina and the stunning, body-hugging high-waist suspender knickers in each collection.
