Fun fact: The Sleeping Beauty was the last ballet I ever performed in (I was a jewel fairy (Sapphire, maybe? I can’t remember) at Aurora’s wedding), and I love this ballet enormously, and thus I get real bent out of shape when new productions give “my” variation to one of the fairies from the christening (get back to Act I, losers) or, WORST OF ALL, to a dude (ahem ROYAL BALLET). The Sleeping Beauty is 19th century classical ballet at its best: the hierarchy within the fairytale world perfectly mirrors the hierarchical structure of a traditional ballet company, the choreography for Aurora and the Lilac Fairy is some of the most technically challenging in the repertory, and of course there’s Tchaikovsky’s gorgeous score, familiar to those of you who have seen Disney’s original animated version. I saved yesterday’s editorial for last because it’s my favorite: so, so much prettiness. And now, here is the matching gift guide, so we can all be ballerinas together. Enjoy!

December 5, 2014 at 10:20 am (8 years ago)I’m surprised and kind of charmed that some of Britney Spears’ collection has appeared in these ballet-themed guides, and I think they’re actually quite pretty! Especially for the more affordable price point, they’re lovely and well done. Snaps, Britney!

December 5, 2014 at 2:58 pm (8 years ago)I think the reason I included so many is because I was so, SO pleasantly surprised when I saw the products at Curve. Like there’s a LOT of product, and it’s pretty and accessible, and the price point is really modest, and … yeah. Good job, Brit!

December 8, 2014 at 9:39 am (8 years ago)Hey, thanks Pia! It’s still (disappointingly) full price on the USA website, and I’ve had issues with my credit card company shopping through the UK site before. Unfortunately I think I’ll have to give it a pass this time, but I hope you enjoy your gorgeous set!

December 8, 2014 at 8:29 am (8 years ago)Hi Sweets! I’ve been loving your recent shoots so much, you (and the lingerie, of course) look simply stunning <3
I just wanted to let you know that the Phoebe set from Gossard is on sale on the Gossard website at a frankly affordable price, and you can even get 20% off with the code SPARKLE20. Maybe your credit card can manage it, mine definitely could 🙂
I don't know if you're familiar with Gossard's sizing, they size big in the cup and slightly small in the back (although I didn't feel it was enough to justify going up a size). At the moment I'm a big 30FF/ small 30G and I need a 30F with them.
I hope you'll be able to get it!

December 8, 2014 at 9:40 am (8 years ago)Hi Emilia! Thank you so much for the heads up, and the excellent sizing advice! Unfortunately the set is still full-price on the USA website, and I’ve had issues with my credit card getting hit for fraud when I try to shop the UK site. I think I’m going to have to pass it by this time, but I hope you enjoy your gorgeous set! I’m going to remember your sizing advice in the future when I decide I have the funds to try Gossard. Thanks so much!
