I am an unabashedly passionate Mimi Holliday fan. I love the luxurious fabrics and lace, the playful colors, the dazzling array of shapes and styles, and above all the phenomenal size range. Some ranges offer styles in sizes from 28A-40E, with GG cups available up to a 34 band. While this can’t, obviously, include every single person’s size, there aren’t many other brands producing this array of sizes, and certainly not in the luxury markets. The attention to detail is both sumptuous and playful: many knickers feature cheeky rear details ranging from simple, small keyholes to plush silk bows and corset-like lacing. There’s really no such thing as a “basic” when it comes to Mimi Holliday: the line is all about color, personality, and sophistication. There’s a past season set on sale at Figleaves in my size that’s currently sitting in my shopping cart, taunting me.
The Autumn/Winter styles I saw at Curve in February are beginning to appear online, and without a doubt one of my favorites is a Mimi classic: the Bisou Bisou range, available this season in gleaming azure and black eyelash lace. The Comfort Bra, pictured above, just looks fantastic: I’m used to seeing it with lace cups in past seasons, the silk satin cups look so, so luscious. For fuller busts there’s a beautiful black lace Maxi Bra:
There are two MORE bra styles to choose from, in addition to four knicker styles, a suspender, a bodysuit, a babydoll, a teddy, and a slip. Mimi, you’re amazing.
There are some other lovely new styles on the Damaris/Mimi Holliday, including two new silk and satin maternity bras (the beautiful Dotty L’Amour and Dotty Nuit) with many more to come. Damaris’ new collection is live as well, with several ballet-themed ranges featuring silk, lace, PVC, and rubber– it’s all pretty incredible. One of my favorite pieces is the silk tulle “Sleeping Beauty” babydoll below.
Mimi Holliday is available from their own site, as well as at Figleaves and Nordstrom (no Maxi Bras, Nordstrom? What gives?). Bras range from around £50-60 ($85-95), accessories from around £30-130 ($50-200). What do you think of the new season’s collection? Do you have a favorite Mimi Holliday style?
