Sweet Nothing Du Jour 10/8/13: Mimi Holliday’s Bisou Bisou Azure

Mimi Holliday Bisou Bisou Azure Comfort Bra, Classic Knicker, and Suspender

Mimi Holliday Bisou Bisou Azure Silk Satin Comfort Bra (28B-F, 30B-F, 32A-E, 34A-E, 36A-DD, 38B-D, 40B-C), Classic Knicker (XS-XL), and Silk Satin Suspender (XS-XL)

I am an unabashedly passionate Mimi Holliday fan.  I love the luxurious fabrics and lace, the playful colors, the dazzling array of shapes and styles, and above all the phenomenal size range.  Some ranges offer styles in sizes from 28A-40E, with GG cups available up to a 34 band.  While this can’t, obviously, include every single person’s size, there aren’t many other brands producing this array of sizes, and certainly not in the luxury markets.  The attention to detail is both sumptuous and playful: many knickers feature cheeky rear details ranging from simple, small keyholes to plush silk bows and corset-like lacing.  There’s really no such thing as a “basic” when it comes to Mimi Holliday: the line is all about color, personality, and sophistication.  There’s a past season set on sale at Figleaves in my size that’s currently sitting in my shopping cart, taunting me.

The Autumn/Winter styles I saw at Curve in February are beginning to appear online, and without a doubt one of my favorites is a Mimi classic: the Bisou Bisou range, available this season in gleaming azure and black eyelash lace.  The Comfort Bra, pictured above, just looks fantastic: I’m used to seeing it with lace cups in past seasons, the silk satin cups look so, so luscious.  For fuller busts there’s a beautiful black lace Maxi Bra:

There are two MORE bra styles to choose from, in addition to four knicker styles, a suspender, a bodysuit, a babydoll, a teddy, and a slip.  Mimi, you’re amazing.

There are some other lovely new styles on the Damaris/Mimi Holliday, including two new silk and satin maternity bras (the beautiful Dotty L’Amour and Dotty Nuit) with many more to come.  Damaris’ new collection is live as well, with several ballet-themed ranges featuring silk, lace, PVC, and rubber– it’s all pretty incredible.  One of my favorite pieces is the silk tulle “Sleeping Beauty” babydoll below.

Mimi Holliday is available from their own site, as well as at Figleaves and Nordstrom (no Maxi Bras, Nordstrom?  What gives?).  Bras range from around £50-60 ($85-95), accessories from around £30-130 ($50-200).  What do you think of the new season’s collection?  Do you have a favorite Mimi Holliday style?

I don’t know how I never noticed in all the other Mimi posts I’ve read, but I am in love (LOVE) with those panties in the first picture. So gorgeous!

Super pretty, right? There’s also a high-waist lace knicker that I think is just to die for!

I really love Mimi Holliday’s designs and colors (especially the black bisou bisou lace paired with a dark color, and their bright summer colors) (in fact, everything that is not too white) ! I remember the purple with yellow lace design you posted on facebook some time ago… so beautiful ! It is made for me !
But I have never try the brand in real life… In one hand, it is so beautiful and they do my size, but on the other hand, I have read reviews that said fabrics used getting old too much quickly for the expensive price, sizing inconsistent in the same cut but different colors, bras badly constructed, not confortable enough for everyday wear etc… In fact, more simple, this brand is too much expensive for me, badly constructed or not ….
Imagine the brand fit me : I will loose all my money, because I will want all thoses beautifuls things ! And I will want matching sets too … aïe !

I know, it’s so hard when we hear about fit and size inconsistencies– it makes me hesitate to place an order, especially for a higher-end piece like Mimi Holliday. One day I will get up the courage to do it!

    I’m a big fan myself )
But there is one thing I could argue about: rarely, but they do basics. Angelique Jet Super Plunge is actully my ‘go to basic black bra’.
Although I wholeheartly agree that Mimi Holliday is a fantastic brand with many terrific designs and excellent quality.

Ooohh, that bra is so, so pretty! I definitely wear “fashion” bras as my personal “basics”, so I’m much in the same boat 🙂

Basics shouldn’t be boring and ugly )), so hooray to fashion bras which could serve as great basics! )
