Of course I can’t be 100% sure of what 2013 will bring, but I’m pretty sure it’ll bring some badass Boeuf Bourgignon and Coq au Vin. Merci maman, pour les cocottes Staub! I impulse-purchased Mastering the Art of French Cooking for myself, so once I feel remotely like eating butter or cream again (oof, December catches up with you), things are gonna get FRENCH around here.

I confess I’m not certain what to make in the mini ones. Mini-boeuf bourgignons? Mini-quiches? Mini-grits casseroles? Mini-cheesecakes? Never mind. I think I just answered my question.

January 7, 2013 at 7:43 pm (10 years ago)Everyone should make the JC Coq Au Vin once in their life for the lovely (and long!) experience. Just don’t do it for a large dinner party as an experiment the day of, like I did my first time. Talk about stressful!
