Tonight I had an appointment on the Upper West Side and had some time to kill beforehand, so I ducked into Loehmanns. I could do with some new summer tops and skirts, so of course I headed straight to the lingerie section. Obviously. I was surprised and delighted to find a number of Mimi Holliday bras sort of buried on a rack in a corner, marked down from $90-100 to around $30-40. It was all the sweeter that many styles were from A/W 2011 collections, all of which were named after French desserts. I don’t know if you noticed the name of this blog, but . . .
Did they have my size? Well, no. So close, but no dice. But but but! they had the most availability in the 28 and 30 back set, so if you’ve been curious about smaller back sizes and you’re in NYC, hie thee to Loehmanns and take ’em out for a spin. These are all silk, lace, and chiffon, and if you’ve ever worried that a lace bra will be itchy or scratchy, these will put your mind at ease. They are fine, soft, smooth, and luxurious. I spotted the following styles in the following sizes:
The full-bust bra was available in sizes:
28 C, DD, E, F, FF, G
30 C, E, FF, G
The padded version was available in 38 B
Etoile de Nuit bra available in sizes:
Padded bra available in:
Teddy available in sizes S and L, possibly others
I also spotted a few stragglers from these collections, but I’m afraid I didn’t catch the exact styles or sizes available (a mix of bras, suspenders, knickers, and teddies).
Also spotted: a bunch of lush silk bralettes, knickers, and chemises by La Fee Verte, including the set I highlighted in my review of Derrière de Soie, for fractions of the original price. Interested in trying some luxury lingerie without breaking the bank? Loehmanns is open July 4th!
